Kochi: The High Court on Wednesday expressed displeasure at the State government taking different stands on cancellation of ‘pattas’ (title deeds) of party offices of CPI(M), CPI and that of a private resort. The observation was made by Justice S. Sirijagan while closing a contempt petition filed by the owners of Dhanyasree resorts at Munnar against revenue officials. During the consideration of the case, the court had enquired of the government why the ‘pattas’ of the two political parties had not been cancelled. The court said the reply given by the government in this regard was ‘vague.’ The government had stated that it was verifying the validity of the ‘pattas’ and the matter was under its active consideration. — PTI
