KOZHIKODE: The Vadakara Regional Transport Authority has cancelled the permits of two buses for rash driving. The buses were involved in accidents that caused the death of three persons, including a school student. The decision of District Collector A. Jayathilak, who is the chairman of the Regional Transport Authority, came after the authority was convinced that the vehicles being driven dangerously at high speeds had caused the accidents and loss of life. In one instance, two persons travelling on a motorbike were killed at Mayyannur, near Vadakara, on December 4, when they were hit by a bus . In another instance, on January 5, a girl was killed at Vadakara when she was hit by a bus. The authority noted that despite being in a school zone, the speed limit had not been maintained by the bus drivers.
