Prasad hopes Zaheer will soon be fit

Bangalore: India’s bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad expressed the hope that injured left-arm seamer Zaheer Khan will be fit in time for the forthcoming series against South Africa.

“He is working hard on his fitness. It will take time and Anil Kumble and coach Gary Kirsten will take a decision (connected to selection).

“He is coming back from injury and needs to be cautious about how much he is going to push himself.

“He is slowly raising the load and I am sure he will be fit for the Tests,” Prasad said. — Principal Correspondent
