Karnataka begins well
BANGALORE: Host Karnataka began its campaign on a winning note with a 25-14, 25-7, 25-21 win over Andhra Pradesh, in the men’s section of the south zone senior volleyball championship which began here on Wednesday.
In the opening match, played under lights, it was Karnataka which dominated the show with a blend of attack and defence. Spikers Ganesh Rai and Nagesh executed some telling smashes to keep Karnataka on top.
AP made a spirited comeback in the third set before Karnataka closed out the game.
Earlier, the five-day championship was inaugurated by G. Parameshwar, former State Education Minister.
