Bus fares likely to be hiked in Punjab

Chandigarh: Travelling by state-owned transport system in Punjab will become costlier as the Government is proposing to hike the bus fare in the wake of charging of toll tax on roads.

Replying to a question by independent legislator Ajit Singh Shant during the question hour in the State Assembly here on Thursday, Transport Minister Master Mohan Lal told the House that the proposal to hike bus fare was “under active consideration” of the department due to charging of toll tax on roads in the state.
