Vociferous protest: Physically challenged persons staging a protest outside the general hospital in Anantapur on Thursday.

ANANTAPUR: Physically challenged persons from different parts of the district gathered here on Thursday and staged a protest by blocking the traffic on the hospital road as the hospital authorities refused to issue them medical certificates. They were told to come in July 2009 to get their certificates.

It’s the practice to issue medical certificates to the physically challenged persons in the general hospital here every Thursday and a large number of them arrived from different parts on Thursday seeking the certificates. However, to their dismay, they were told to come in July 2009 as there was a long waiting list of persons seeking the certificates. The authorities stated that the facilities would enable them issue certificates to only about 100 persons every week.
