TD activists plan to disrupt airport inaugural
Staff Reporter
Sangareddy: Telugu Desam Party state secretary M. A. Faheem addressing press here on Thursday warned the State government that party activists plan to disrupt the Shamsabad airport inaugural ceremony to be addressed by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Friday if the Government does not agree to name the domestic terminal after N.T.Rama Rao.
He pointed that it was the efforts of the TDP government under N.Chandrababu Naidu that conferred the international airport status to Hyderabad. He said that direct flights to Singapore, USA and many more destinations started only during the regime of the TDP. He asked the Congress government to respect NTR as person who brought laurels to the Telugu community across the globe.
Faheem alleged that the State government is playing with the sentiments of the people of the region by organising a show in the name of IIT in Medak district. He questioned why the land said to be earmarked for IIT near Kandi has not been acquired by authorities so far.
