Teachers’ Congress to be held tomorrow

KASARAGOD: The Kasaragod district panchayat, Sarva Siksha Abhyan (SSA) and the education department are jointly organising a district Teachers’ Congress at Government Upper Primary School, Pulloor in the district on March 15, the organisers have said. The inauguration ceremony would be held at 10 a.m.

At a press conference here district panchayat president M.V. Balakrishnan said the Congress was expected to discuss the creative experiments carried out in the classrooms in the district as a part of Unarvu project initiated by the district panchayat.

Teachers from 40 educational institutions in the district, which had made notable gains in education as a part of Unarvu programme, are expected to participate.

The teachers from those schools would present papers on the initiatives at their schools delineating its aims, details and its relevance in education sector. Discussions would follow presentations. The Congress would also feature exhibitions on the gains achieved by various schools in the Sate in education and video exhibitions on excellent models in education in the district.

Students and teachers who achieved excellence in education sector would be felicitated in the exhibition.Mr. Balakrishnan said that the project had attracted attention of the whole State and the education department.
