Leaders urged to attend all-party meet

KOCHI: A meeting of civil society leaders and intellectuals held here with jurist V.R. Krishna Iyer in the chair on Thursday afternoon has called upon leaders of all political parties to attend the March 15 all-party meeting to end the political killings in Kannur district.

The meeting, attended by Sukumar Azhikode, K.M. Bahaudheen, K. Ajitha and O. Abdurahiman among others, was called by the Forum for Democracy and Communal Amity, headed by Mr. Iyer.

It aimed to help a speedy return to normality in Thalassery and nearby areas and a find a way to check recurrence of violence.
