Issue ID cards to all voters: BSP

BANGALORE: The Bahujan Samaj Party has urged the Election Commission to announce Assembly elections dates only after photo identity cards are issued to all eligible voters in the State.

In a memorandum to the Chief Election Commissioner, BSP national general secretary and former Minister P.G.R. Sindhia said free and fair elections could only be ensured if all the voters had photo ID cards. Large-scale number bogus voting would take place in the absence of ID cards, he said. — Special Correspondent
