2 injured at Metro station

NEW DELHI: Two persons were injured at Uttam Nagar (East) metro railway station here on Thursday when a pipe attached to the compressor of an air-conditioner burst.
The mishap took place at about 4 p.m. when routine maintenance work was being carried out on the roof of the station where the compressor of an air-conditioning unit supplying to the station office is located. According to a statement issued by DMRC, it appears the pipe attached to the compressor burst, injuring 19-year-old Gunnar and 21-year-old Shakeel who work for M/s Bluestar. While Gunnar suffered nine per cent burns, Shakeel received 20 per cent burn injuries. Both were shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for treatment.
Officials said there was no effect on the metro services due to the incident.
