Two more die of brain fever
NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Thursday recorded two more deaths in the Capital due to meningococcemia, taking the death toll so far this year to over 10.
A total of 164 cases have been reported so far, 19 of them on Thursday alone.
Said MCD’s Municipal Health Officer N.K. Yadav: “The disease peaks in April and May and cases will continue to pour in till then. We are also keeping a check on families of infected people and following up with precautionary treatment. The symptoms of the disease include fever, body rashes, severe headache, stiff neck and nausea.”
