BANGALORE: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has announced limited period offers on various services. BSNL Principal General Manager Subhendu Ghosh told presspersons here on Thursday that customers of landline and the wireless in local loop (WLL) services could get a two-month discount on fixed monthly plan charges by opting for advance annual plan charges. There would be no security deposit or installation charges for new telephone connections booked this month in Bangalore district circle. Other limited period offers include waiver of installation charges for broadband connection with a special plan at Rs. 125 a month at a speed of 2 Mbps. Mr. Ghosh also announced two promotional offers on BSNL’s prepaid mobile service. Talk time on the existing Rs. 30 card will be enhanced to an equivalent of Rs. 100 and the validity period increased from seven days to 30 days. Under the Sumo prepaid plan, one-year validity can be obtained at a cost of Rs. 249. He said the recently launched handset bundle, where a handset is provided along with a connection, had received good response. BSNL had already sold 4,000 such connections and 8,000 enquiries were being processed. Booking for telephone and broadband connections had been made easy, and customers who wanted to book telephones, broadband connection or data cards could just send an SMS to 9448077777. Mr. Ghosh said BSNL would also accept bill payment through credit cards at various customer service centres. Wi-fi trials had been completed in many places in Bangalore and the service would soon be launched. He said subscribers who move to new locations need not ask for transfer of telephone, but would get a new connection as BSNL had ready lines to offer.
