Chandigarh: Haryana Government has registered cases against 57 officers of the Education Department besides former Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala and 11 others in connection with irregularities in recruitment of JBT teachers in 2000 during the tenure of the INLD government. Replying to a supplementary during the question hour relating to irregularities in the recruitment of JBT teachers, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Surjewala on Thursday said they included District Primary Education Officers, District Education Officers and Principals who were all associated with the selection process. He said cases against Chautala, his son Ajay, Vidya Dhar, the then OSD to the chief minister, an IAS officer Sanjiv Kumar and eight other officials were being investigated by the CBI. Names of 57 more officials who were connected with the selection process in the districts came up later, he said adding that cases had been registered against them. The fate of around 3,000 JBT teachers would depend on the outcome of the petitions pending before the Supreme Court. PTI
