Religious harmony drive from Sunday

MANGALORE: The Dakshina Kannada district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind will launch a fortnight-long religious harmony drive across the district from Sunday. The aim of the drive is to strengthen harmonious environment, promote peaceful coexistence by better mutual understanding, make people aware of the evil effects of communalism and give a call to wage a united struggle against communalism irrespective of their belief and faith.
Mohammad Kunhi, assistant convener of the drive, committee told presspersons here on Wednesday that the drive would also aim at acquainting people with the religious tolerance practiced and preached by Prophet Mohammad.
Followers of all faith could participate in it.
