“Reduce hike in aavin milk prices immediately”

Akila Indhiya Samathuva Makkal Katchi’s plea to Government
|
PUDUKOTTAI: The Akila Indhiya Samathuva Makkal Katchi on Thursday urged the State Government to reduce the recent hike in milk prices in order to help the people, who were already affected by the increase in prices of essential commodities.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at the party’s district functionaries’ meeting, inaugurated by its district secretary G. Srinivasan here.
Centre, State criticised
The meeting adopted a resolution condemning the Central and State governments for not setting up heavy industries, which would provide employment to many, in the district.
By another resolution, the party planned to organise a demonstration on March 18 in front of the railway station to condemn the Centre for not expediting the broad gauge conversion work between Karaikudi and Manamadurai and for not providing basic facilities to travellers from Pudukottai.
Party functionaries from various parts of the district attended the meeting, according to a press release issued by the party.
