PSG Tech inks pact with Yahoo

FRUITFUL TIE-UP: R. Rudramoorthy, Principal, PSG College of Technology (right), exchanging an MoU with Chidambaran Kollengode, Director, Grid Systems Group, Yahoo Software Development Pvt. Limited, in Coimbatore.
COIMBATORE: PSG College of Technology signed a memorandum of understanding with Yahoo Software Development India Pvt. Ltd., for research purposes in grid computing recently. The MoU was signed by R. Rudhramoorthy, Principal, PSG College of Technology, and Chidambaran Kollengode, Director, Grid Systems Group, Yahoo Software Development Pvt. Ltd.
The scope of the agreement includes institution-industry interaction and promoting industry oriented research work.
Representatives of the college and the company will jointly monitor the progress of the collaborative research.
The primary focus is to train staff and students on the Yahoo tools and platforms like Hadoop. The research areas include web search, load balancing and failure handling in grid systems.
