Letters to the Editor
Wednesday’s strike by the employees of the Airports Authority of India to protest against the planned closure of the old airports in Hyderabad and Bangalore for commercial purposes was an expression of non-cooperation with development. Everyone is aware that the existing infrastructure in airports is highly inadequate to meet the demands of the ever-increasing traffic.
Srinivas Nyayapati,
The government should give priority to the convenience of domestic passengers and the views of airport employees instead of remaining adamant on its agreement with private operators. One hopes better sense will prevail on the powers that be to retain the old airports in the two cities.
V.S. Ganeshan,
