“Good progress in talks with IAEA”

MUMBAI: “Considerable progress” has been made in India’s talks with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for an India-specific safeguards agreement and “it is in the country’s interest that the India-U.S. civilian nuclear deal goes through,” Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Anil Kakodkar said on Thursday.

“We have made considerable progress in our talks with IAEA and will be making further consultations in the matter,” he told reporters.. — PTI
