Special Correspondent

MUMBAI: The Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti fighting for the cause of farmers in distress, welcomed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s demand in the Lok Sabha that the ceiling on land holding should be done away with in the budget waiver for farmers.

The Samiti leader, Kishor Tiwari told The Hindu from Nagpur that Mr. Gandhi’s suggestion in Parliament would widen the Centre’s Rs. 60,000 crore loan waiver scheme and include all farmers of Vidarbha.

Mr. Gandhi has also demanded that there should not be a single cut-off date for the loan waiver.
