NEW DELHI: The Bhambri sisters, Ankita and Sanaa, along with Parija Maloo and Poojashree Venkatesh have been given the wildcards for the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament to be played at the Jaypee Greens Golf Course, Greater Noida, from March 17 to 23. As in the current $50,000 ITF women’s tournament at the DLTA Complex, only Sunitha Rao figures as a direct entrant among the Indians in the main draw. While the 349th-ranked Isha Lakhani was just out of the main draw, and may get in direct before the qualifying draw is made on Friday evening, the other leading Indian players, Rushmi Chakravarthi and Shikha Uberoi will have to go through the qualifying event. Shikha’s sister, Neha Uberoi of the U.S., has aslso got into the main draw by virtue of her rank of 333. — Special Correspondent
