Hunger strike against revised Sakrama scheme
BANGALORE: Members of the Konanakunte Kshemabhivrudhi Sanghagala Okkuta, a federation of 20 residents’ welfare associations, in continuation of their protest against the ‘Sakrama 07’ announced by the State Government, observed a day’s hunger strike in front of Mahatma Gandhi Statue here on Thursday. Office-bearers Nagendra Prasad, B.S. Srinivas, V. Renukaumar and R. Alasingachar led the hunger strike. Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas, advisor of the federation, told presspersons that the Government, had failed to give proper relief to all sections of site and house owners.
As part of the struggle, the federation planned to collect five lakh objections from people throughout the State.
