New batch joins nursing school

SPREADING LIGHT: The new batch of students of the Government School of Nursing hold a lamp-lighting ceremony on the school premises on Thursday.

KOCHI: The 54th batch of nursing students enrolled at the Government School of Nursing, Ernakulam, on Thursday. A lamp lighting ceremony was held to mark the occasion. District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish inaugurated the ceremony.

He said the nursing profession demanded high calibre as they had to deal with different kinds of patients in keeping with the tradition of caring with love and devotion.

District Medical Officer K.T. Remani presided over the function.

The nurses were administered pledge by M.C. Kalliani, Principal of Nursing School. Kochurani Theresa M., Superintendent, General Hospital; Junaid Rehman, RMO, General Hospital; K. Akkamma Mathew, District Nursing Officer; and other senior nursing officials were among those who attended the function.
