City police chief told of fake US visa racket

HYDERABAD: A team of American Consulate, Chennai, officials apprised the City Police Commissioner B. Prasada Rao here on Thursday about a racket of securing American visas using fake documents involving film industry personalities.
The team met Mr. Rao at his office in the backdrop of a fraud involving Telugu film actress Flora Saini coming to light recently. The American Consulate officials told him that they passed on the information about the suspects and the fraud to Royapettah police of Chennai.
They also alerted the Commissioner that there was possibility of a racket being operated by some tricksters from Hyderabad. . “Hyderabad angle to the fraud assumes importance because both Srilata and the agent G. Venkat Reddy who allegedly arranged the false documents hailed from Hyderabad,” police sources told The Hindu. The American Consulate officials sought the assistance of the city police to furnish information related to Srilata and Reddy, the agent of racket. The police are yet to track down the racketeers.
