CPI, Congress ask BJP to call off bandh

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The CPI and the Congress have asked the Bharatiya Janata Party to call off its proposed bandh on Friday and avoid inconvenience to students.

The bandh being called during examination time would put students to difficulties and the BJP had no right to play with their lives, the two parties said.

‘BJP has no moral right’

CPI State secretary K. Narayana said the BJP had no moral right to call for a bandh on the Telangana issue.

The party that went to polls on “one vote two States” slogan conveniently forgot the issue after entering into an alliance with the TDP later.

“Telangana came into the BJP’s agenda after its honeymoon with the TDP was over,” he said.

Speaking to reporters, AICC secretary P. Sudhakar Reddy advised the BJP not to inconvenience students as the Intermediate examination was under way.
