Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: There is no change in the quality of milk procured and distributed by Aavin (Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation), Dairy Development Minister U. Mathivanan said on Thursday.
Responding to AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa’s criticism, Mr. Mathivanan said it was during the AIADMK regime in 2001 that the retail price of milk was hiked by Rs.2 a litre though the procurement price was increased by 50 paise a litre each for buffalo milk and cow milk. But, under the present regime, the procurement price was hiked by Rs.2 a litre for cow milk and Rs.4 a litre for buffalo milk.
