Prisoner escapes

HYDERABAD: An undertrial prisoner B. Raju, 30, who was being shifted from Nalgonda jail to Cherlpally prison, escaped by pushing aside the escort constables at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) on Thursday. Raju was taken to an open place by the constables Durga Reddy and Linga Reddy at the MGBS when he said he wanted to answer nature’s call. The prisoner suddenly pushed the constables and fled the spot with the handcuffs, the police said.
Youth held
The Abids police on Thursday arrested D. Vinod Kumar Reddy, 22, who allegedly used to lift motorcycles by using false keys. Three stolen bikes were recovered from him, the Abids police said. Reddy used to work as an attender in private offices.
