170 nabbed in eve-teasing drive

Kanpur: About 170 people were arrested here in a drive to curb “rising menace” of eve-teasing, police said on Friday.

Under the operation launched four days back, policemen in plain clothes have been posted near girls colleges and other public places, where such acts were reported to be prevalent, SSP Anand Swarup said. The drive, launched four days back, will be continued for one more week, during which cops will keep vigil specially at multiplex and market areas, he said.
