Speciality eye camp held in Kolli Hills

KOLLI HILLS: The Madras Aluminium Co. Ltd. (MALCO) in collaboration with Lotus Eye Care, Salem, successfully conducted a speciality eye camp at Semmedu in Kolli Hills on Thursday.
A total of around 612 people were benefited through this programme.
This camp was specially organised for treating eye related ailments and 52 people were identified for further treatment which would be undertaken with the support of MALCO.
A group of doctors from Lotus Hospital conducted the screening.
MALCO Officials Mr. M. Kannan, Manager Mines, Mr. Jijo, Officer CSR, Mr. Amartej, Mining Engineer, participated.

“Kolli Hills is a tribal centred area where people are not able to access and afford modern healthcare facilities. Mortality rate is higher among the people living in this area. In order to develop health consciousness among the tribals and facilitate with modern health care facilities, MALCO is implementing various health care programmes,” according to a press release from the industry.
