KOCHI: The Kakkoor cattle race was banned by Muvattupuzha Revenue Divisional Officer P.K. Nalan after the organisers failed to adhere to guidelines set by the Supreme Court and the High Court of Kerala. The race was scheduled for Thursday and the District Collector gave a chance to the organisers to produce the certificates and conduct the race on Friday. According to Supreme Court directives, various certificates under the Performing Animals Registration Rules, Draught and Pack Animals Rules, and Transport Rules are mandatory for conducting a race like this. — Staff Reporter
