SHIMLA: Former Union Minister Shanta Kumar filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha polls here on Friday. The senior BJP leader is likely to be elected unopposed as the Opposition Congress party has decided not to field any candidate against him. While thanking the BJP leadership, Mr. Kumar expressed appreciation for the Congress party for not opposing his candidature. State BJP in-charge Satpal Jain said Mr. Kumar filed four sets of nomination papers and was supported by at least 10 MLAs for each proposal. He said one BSP and one independent MLA also proposed the name of Mr. Kumar.
