Training for new VAOs

TIRUVARUR: Work of village administrative officers (VAOs) remains the basis for the work of other departments, Collector M. Chandrasekaran said here recently.
Addressing newly recruited VAOs in the district, the Collector said the appointments had been made after a long gap. Sixty-two VAOs were appointed in Tiruvarur revenue division and 35 in Mannargudi revenue division in Tiruvarur district. The total number of appointments in the district was 97.
Preliminary training was given to the VAOs for two days. They would be given VAO training for one and a half months and land measurement training for one month.
On March 15, training with respect to other departments works related to VAOs would be given at the collectorate.
V. Nagarajan, Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruvarur, and K. Muthusamy, Public Relations Officer, Tiruvarur district, participated in the meeting.
