Announcement on inter-State permits

Coimbatore: The State Transport Commissioner, C.P. Singh, has announced that the Transport Authority in Karnataka has sent a list of 274 vacancies caused due to non-renewal and surrender of counter-signature of Tamil Nadu-based goods carriage permits.
A release said that therefore, it was decided to issue 274 fresh recommendation letters for issue of counter-signature permits to ply in Karnataka. Those interested could apply to the Secretary, State Transport Authority, Ezhilagam, Chepauk, Chennai 5 in the prescribed form with fee. The vacancies would be allotted strictly on ‘first-come, first-serve basis’. Application forms could be obtained from the office of State Transport Authority/Transport Commissioner, Chennai or downloaded from www.tn.gov.in/sta.
Quota increase
Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Governments have come to a reciprocal agreement to increase the quota of counter-signature of permits for goods vehicles from 7,500 to 15,000.
Those interested could apply to the above mentioned address.
