dated March 15, 1958: Call for unity

A call to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to fight with vigour and determination the “disruptive tactics and plans of the enemies of the State,” was made by Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad. He was addressing the 21st annual session of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference in Jammu on March 14. Speaking amidst thunderous cheers, Bakshi said: “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have all along resisted disruptive tactics; and plans of the enemies of the State have been defeated ever since 1947 when there was full-fledged aggression committed against the State. The need of the hour is unity at all levels and among all sections of the people and areas of the State so that the challenge is met with the unanimous verdict of us all. "
