COLOMBO: Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama on Friday summoned U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka Robert Blake to “register Sri Lanka’s serious concerns” about the recently released U.S. State Department’s 2007 Country Report on Human Rights Practices in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, the military claimed that at least 30 LTTE cadres were killed in fighting in the north. The Foreign Ministry said the Minister told the envoy that the report presented a distorted view of the actual situation during 2007 and was “unfortunately a litany of unsubstantiated allegations, innuendo and vituperative exaggerations.
