Kolar: A high-power team of senior officials is slated to visit Kolar on Saturday to look into the causes for the losses of the Kolar District Central Cooperative (DCC) Bank and Primary Credit Cooperative Societies (PACCS) in the district. Ravikumar, Secretary in the Cooperative Department, and Apex Bank Managing Director N.C. Muniyappa are leading the team, sources told The Hindu. SignificanceSince the demand for revival of the DCC Bank, the lifeline of agricultural financing of Kolar and Chickballapur districts, picked up, the visit of top officials gains significance creating hope among farmers. Farmers, led by the Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha, have launched agitations calling for steps to revive the bank.
