Dalai Lama’s appeal

Special Correspondent

New Delhi: The Dalai Lama on Friday appealed to the Chinese leadership “to stop using force and address the long-simmering resentment of the Tibetan people through dialogue.”

In a statement issued from his office in Dharamsala, the Dalai Lama said he was “deeply concerned over the situation that has been developing in Tibet following peaceful protests” by Tibetans in Lhasa and other parts in recent days.

The Dalai Lama also urged Tibetans not to resort to violence.
