Certificates: AICTE warning
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has threatened punitive action, including withdrawal of recognition of erring institutions and universities, if they refuse to return the original certificates and fees of students who want to move to another institution. The warning has been issued following complaints that technical institutions and universities, including deemed universities, are making admissions well before the start of the academic year, collecting full fees and retaining certificates in a bid to prevent students from moving elsewhere.
Complaints
There are also complaints that the time-limit for joining courses is being advanced, thereby restricting the choice available to students. Vacancies arising as a result of students opting out should be filled from the waiting list.
