New index to measure inflation

NEW DELHI: A new index is being prepared to measure inflation more accurately, Finance Minister P Chidambaram told the Lok Sabha on Friday. The index, which is in the process of being formulated, will take into account the current basket of goods and services and hence would more accurately measure inflation, he said in a reply in the House. — PTI
