Chennai: India’s Karun Chandhok finished first and fourth respectively in tricky weather conditions in the two test sessions of his new ISport International car on Thursday at the Paul Ricard track in France. An ISport release said that Chandhok lapped the circuit in 1:12.717 seconds, nearly one tenth of a second clear of the second-placed Piquet Sports driver Pastor Maldonado and the current GP2 leader Romain Grosjean, who finished third. Proving a pointChandhok said: “I always believed that I would gain the pace when the issues were resolved and I finally succeeded in proving myself. “The team and myself have been working hard to fix few teething problems and finally we identified the set-up changes in my car.” — PTI
