CHENNAI: Left-arm spinner R. Raguram’s five-wicket haul helped Eagle challenge Aruna for the first-innings lead on the final day of the ninth-round TNCA first division league cricket match at the Murugappa ground. But Aruna held firm to split points with Eagle. S.R. Ganesh Kumar top-scored with 44. In the other match that had play on Friday, Grand Slam declared its first innings on 404 for six against IOB. S. Suresh Kumar, resuming on 140, scored 167 to tally 590 runs in nine games. K.B. Arun Karthick, who made 141 on Thursday, had earlier crossed 600 runs. Grand Slam earned five points to lead the standings. Rain washed out the third day of the remaining ninth-round matches. Jolly Rovers took five points from its match against Parry’s, having secured the first innings lead on Thursday, while the points were shared in the other encounters. The scores: Parry’s 235 drew with Jolly Rovers 236 for six in 74 overs, at IIT-Chemplast. Points: Rovers 5, Parry’s 2. IOB 172 drew with Grand Slam 404 for six decl. in 107 overs (K.B.
