Lighting up the sky

Cause and effect: Just as Bangalore is readying itself for a blazing summer, the skies rumbled. Over an hour of relentless lightning flashed across the western sky on Friday night, which, according to the Met Department, suggested a thunderstorm brought on by the combined effects of a trough of low pressure over the Arabian Sea and a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. There were reports of rain in some parts of the city.
