Programme disrupted; 20 persons arrested

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Ahead of the Good Friday celebrations, a programme titled “Miracle” had been organised on Friday at a playground in Koramangala police station limits. The police said members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) mistook the preaching programme for mass conversion and barged into the venue. “The situation was tense for a while. A few persons were trying to create a scene. The police were forced to make preventive arrests,” said Soumendu Mukherji, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East).

Mr. Mukherji said that around 20 people had been arrested. However, no case has been registered in this regard.
