Fresh date-sheet for all the students issued Exams for all streams will now end on March 29 NEW DELHI: Three Class XI question papers of Kendriya Vidyalayas in Delhi region have leaked forcing the authorities to cancel all the exams and hold them afresh. As news of the English, Business Studies and Chemistry papers being leaked came to the notice of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Delhi region) on Friday, Assistant Commissioner Shachi Kant shot off a letter to the Principals of the 58 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the region issuing a fresh date-sheet for all the students studying in different streams. “We got information that the English, Chemistry and Business Studies papers had been leaked from a school in Delhi Cantonment on Friday. As soon as we heard of it, we convened a meeting to take action. As of now, we know only about three subjects. We decided to cancel the session-ending examination and issue a new schedule,” said Dr. Kant on Saturday, adding that the Sangathan had also set up a seven-member enquiry committee to look into the issue. In the missive to the Principals, Dr. Kant wrote: “It has come to the notice of this office that some question papers of Class XI in different subjects have been leaked out to the students prior to the day of the examination…. It has been decided to cancel the exam of all subjects of all streams of Class XI.” As a result, over 5,000 Kendriya Vidyalaya students of Class XI in Delhi region will have to appear in the examinations again from March 18, the first paper being Physics/Accounts/History. The revised final examinations for all the streams end on March 29. Students have been issued a circular informing about the change. The students are furious at having to sit through the exams again. This is not the first time that the Kendriya Vidyalaya paper has been leaked. According to a Class XI student, two years ago the question paper had leaked, leading to students being made to write the final exam again.
