‘Maha garjana’ to boost Telangana sentiment

Teams undertaking door-to-door campaign


MAHABUBNAGAR: To make the public meeting “Mahabubnagar maha garjana”, a grand success the TRS district unit has undertaken a novel publicity campaign in Mahabubnagar town.

The maha garjana which is to be held here on Monday evening will be addressed by Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao and others.

The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of comment from the ruling party that there was no Telangana sentiment in Mahabubnagar district.

TRS general secretary and son of KCR K.Tarakarama Rao is overseeing the arrangements.

The TRS district president Yennam Srinivas Reddy, general secretary Bekkam Janardhan, publicity secretary Raja Gopal and other leaders are leaving no stone unturned specially in mobilising the public. As part of their publicity campaign, the TRS leaders have formed some teams with their activists.

Each team consists of 40 to 50 activists along with a separate women team. These teams have undertaken door to door publicity campaign regarding the public meeting in their selected localities in the town.

Highlights

A van with public address system, decorated with cut outs of TRS leaders, playing the cassettes of Telangana folk songs and speech’s highlighting the injustice meted out to the region in various fields is moving in the locality followed by traditional drum beats and members of the team wearing pink scarf’s around their neck, holding TRS flags and raising Jai Telangana slogan are attracting the people.

The teams circulating the pamphlets are meeting the members of the houses and appealing them to participate in the meeting.

The pamphlets that are being circulated among the public pointing out that how the people of the region were betrayed at the hands of Andhra rulers and the injustice meted to the Mahabubnagar district specially in irrigation sector.

The members also explaining the need for good turn out to the meeting.

They say that the huge turnout to the meeting will prove that there exits strong sentiment of Telangana in Mahabubnagar district also.

The Mahabubnagar maha garjana is second public meeting being organsied by TRS after the resignations of their elected representatives in constitutional houses first one organized at Korutla on Saturday.
