‘Put Sakrama scheme on hold’

Bangalore: Expression the apprehension that the notification of the modified Sakrama rules might lead to more confusion among the people, Legislative Council Chairman B.K. Chandrashekar has urged the Governor defer the matter to till an elected government assumes office.

In a statement issued here, Prof. Chandrashekar said it would not be appropriate to take a decision in this regard during President’s Rule.

Prof. Chandrashekar agreed with the demand of residents’ welfare associations that a uniform fee should be collected as penalty for regularisation of residential sites irrespective of dimensions. — Staff Reporter
