‘Sculpt true picture of Bhagat Singh’

NEW DELHI: Prof. Chaman Lal of JNU has appealed to the authorities entrusted with installation of a statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in the Parliament complex to ensure that the selection of his picture required to sculpt is done carefully.

“I hope no injustice is done to the memory or ideas of Bhagat Singh since there has been a tendency to depict him in narrow and sectarian contexts even in pictures. The best thing would be to reproduce one of his real photographs,” he said in a statement.
