Examination cancelled in Kashmir
Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Saturday cancelled the matric examination after the reported leakage of the papers, home science and life science and ordered an inquiry into the matter.
The State Board of School Education (BOSE) took the step after receiving complaints in this regard and rescheduled the examination for these papers on March 29. “We have received complaints that Saturday’s papers- home science and life science- had been leaked and accordingly we ordered cancellation of examination of the papers,” BOSE chairman Nissar Ahmed Ganai said .
Inquiry committee
Examination for these papers have been re-scheduled for March 29, he said. Mr. Ganai said an inquiry committee, which will be headed by Professor V. Gupta, has been set up to look into the matter.
The committee has also been asked to incorporate suggestions in order to avoid such recurrence of leakage in future, he said. “Stern action will be taken against those found guilty,” the chairman said.
49,000 students
There are about 49,000 students appearing for matric examination being conducted in the state from March 10 to 26, he said.- PTI
