Indrani Dutta

KOLKATA: The State Bank of India unions have withdrawn their agitation programmes, including the ongoing hunger-strike and the proposed strike in the Bengal Circle on March 28.

A press release issued by the State Bank of India Officers’ Association and the State Bank of India Staff Association said that at a tripartite meeting held in Mumbai on February 14, the management agreed to withdraw their letters which conveyed their move towards shifting of foreign currency market operations and the decision on setting up an inward remittance cell in Mumbai.

Management assurance?

The release claimed that the management had also assured that they would not take any step on the related issues without taking the federations/ associations into confidence and that a roadmap for future activities of the Foreign Department would be settled by the end of April.
