Call to stop outsourcing

Staff Reporter

TIRUNELVELI: Members of National Federation of Insurance Fieldworkers of India staged a dharna on the premises of Life Insurance Corporation of India’s divisional office at Palayamkottai on Saturday pressing various demands.

The protestors said the Centre should give up its move to increase the cap of foreign direct investment in the insurance sector and the administration should not sell its products through other sources even as hundreds of thousands of fieldworkers were marketing its policies.

Outsourcing should be stopped immediately.

Misuse of unit-linked policies by insurance companies should be prevented and a detailed investigation conducted to unearth irregularities of private insurance companies, the speakers said.
